Since 1982, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (BCCHF) has provided financial support to the Child & Family Research Institute (CFRI).
BCCHF provides about $8.5 million in infrastructure funding and operating costs to the CFRI each year, and is currently raising an additional $20 million to support the expansion of the CFRI.
These funds help to support more than 160 researchers at the CFRI who are working to serve children and families across the province by conducting in-depth clinical and scientific research based on the real needs of children today.
CFRI is one of Canada’s largest research facilities dedicated solely to improving the understanding and treatment of child health issues. The institute works in partnership with Children’s & Women's Health Centre of British Columbia and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, agencies of the Provincial Health Services Authority, and the University of British Columbia.
BCCHF’s fundraising efforts are helping to guarantee that this world-renowned research facility remains a top location for the innovative investigators who continue to make discoveries and find cures for illnesses affecting children in British Columbia, Canada, and around the world.
