Bioinformatics Facility
The Bioinformatics Core Facility, as part of UBC Bioinformatics Centre (UBiC) and the CMMT, provides research personnel with considerable expansion of our computing capability, support in computational biology, providing an increasing number of computational tools (software and databases) and training. Bioinformatics personnel provide supervision for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows for basic research and development of databases to support research operations and collaborations.
To meet new biological challenges the facility has introduced a number of information technology applications at the CMMT to address issues that are both technical (the design and implementation of computational biology) and social (involving consideration of human problem solving and communication).
