DNA Sequencing Facility
The CMMT / CFRI DNA Sequencing Core Facility offers users access to automated DNA sequencing. The DNA Core Facility provides competitive and timely DNA sequencing in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Results are available within a short turn-around time (currently 1-3 days).
The Sequencing is performed on an ABI 3100 16-capillary automated genetic analyzer with a capacity of about 144 samples in 24 hours. Samples are typically run on an 80cm capillary yielding 800 to 900 base pairs (bp). It is able to sequence single or double stranded DNA from plasmids, Polymerase Chair Reaction (PCR) products, Bacterial Artificial Chromosome (BAC), p1-derived Artificial Chromosome (PAC) and cosmid templates. The sequence data is available as a printed chromatogram, and electronically as text, PDF, and/or .abi trace files by email or disk.
Sequencing services are offered for internal, university, or private sector customers.
