Transgenic Facility
The Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics / Canadian Genetic Disease Network Transgenic Core Facility offers centralized services for pronuclear injection of DNA into fertilized oocytes, ES cell injections into blastocytes and embryo rederivation.
The Transgenic Core Facility is located within a barrier animal facility which maintains specific-pathogen free (SPF) and helicobacter free health status. The Facility houses approximately 5,500 mouse cages on ventilated racks with a built in automated watering system. The Facility’s research infrastructure includes state-of-the-art behavioural analysis suites, a high-throughput surgical suite, and a multi-use laboratory.
