'Wet Bench' Laboratories
CFRI facilities include 'wet bench' laboratories in four buildings: the East Block (opened in 1985); the North Block (opened in 1998); the South Block (opened in 1998) and the new translational research building (opened in 2008).

'Dry Labs'
'Dry labs' for clinical research are located within buildings on the Oak Street campus and provide space for research units such as the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit and Children and Youth with Disabilities in Society. Both are part of the Community Child Health program at CFRI.

Core Facilities
A number of specialized scientific core facilities are on-site to facilitate wet bench research, clinical investigation and applied health research. These facilities couple technical expertise and services with state-of-the-art equipment. Click here for a detailed listing of core facilities at CFRI.

Animal Care Facilities
The Institute's animal care facilities are managed in accordance with the strict guidelines of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Animal Care Committee. This committee ensures that the appropriate care, including adequate veterinary care, is given to animals in all stages of life and in all experimental situations in compliance with Canadian Council on Animal Care ("CCAC") guidelines, applicable legislation and UBC rules.

Stores Facility
The Institute's stores facility carries a variety of supplies for site researchers. This facility carries products from VWR Scientific, Fisher Scientific, Diamed Lab Supplies, and Island Scientific. A broad range of products is also carried on consignment from Invitrogen, BioRad Laboratories, Qiagen, and Sigma-Aldrich. Outside labs are also welcome to use the stores facility.
