PHSA and SFU Formalize Affiliation Agreement

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) have signed an academic affiliation agreement, encouraging SFU faculty to conduct research at PHSA’s facilities, and allowing for students to receive clinical training and graduate and postdoctoral research training at PHSA facilities. PHSA facilities include BC Children’s Hospital, Sunnyhill Health Centre for Children, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre, Riverview Hospital, and the Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission. A number of SFU faculty are currently researchers with the Child & Family Research Institute.
 
Dr. Stuart MacLeod, CFRI Executive Director and PHSA VP, Academic Development says, "This affiliation represents an important step forward for both institutions, especially at a time when SFU is making rapid progress in the development of its Faculty of Health Sciences and associated programs in population and public health."
