Dr Michael Hayden named a finalist for the Globe & Mail’s Nation Builder of 2008
Dr. Michael Hayden is the director of the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at CFRI. New research facility stimulates BC’s “brain gain”
Research efforts in British Columbia got a boost today with the opening of a new five-floor research building in Vancouver focused on health issues affecting children and their families and on mental health conditions across the age spectrum.
The new building is a $58.1-million expansion to CFRI and home of the newly formed BC Mental Health & Addictions Research Institute. [more...]

Dr. Michael Hayden, a professor of medical genetics at the University of British Columbia and director of the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at the Child & Family Research Institute, has been named Canada's 2008 "Health Researcher of the Year" in the field of biomedical and clinical research - the highest scientific honour from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. National study launched to discover the causes of asthma and allergy
A new, multi-million dollar national study will recruit 5000 pregnant Canadian women and follow their children as they grow up in an effort to understand why there's an asthma and allergy epidemic among children. Typical North American diet is deficient in omega-3 fatty acids
