Research Areas
  • Evidence-based medicine
  • Clinical research methodology
  • Evaluation
  • Integrative medicine
  • Complementary and alternative medicine

Summary

Areas of research:

  • The use of clinical research methodology to address questions of public health interest and facilitate decision making.  Examples include determining which drugs have the best effectiveness/safety profiles, and practice evaluation in order to determine the best way to administer care.
  • Development and evaluation of patient-centred approaches through the promotion of integrative medicine.  One specific interest in this domain is the evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine integrated with usual conventional care.
  • Randomized clinical trial methodology, in particular for the development of pragmatic trials to assess usual care practice.
