Research Areas
  • Resuscitation of the acutely ill or injured child, especially with respiratory insufficiency
  • Epidemiology and outcomes of critical illness

Summary

I am interested in methods of improving our ability to provide timely services to children who are injured or acutely ill. For instance, the evaluation of respiratory decompensation and methods of quick vascular access are areas of study.

I am also interested in looking at the changing patterns of illness as preventatives measures (e.g. vaccines, seatbelt legislation, etc) are put in place.

Current Projects
  • Evaluation of an educational program for asthma in the pediatric emergency department
  • Implications of bruises and fractures in presumed victims of child abuse
